Check out our worship services and sermons by our pastor
Here you can experience our worship for yourself.
Sunday Worship
We have a blended worship style including music with a Praise Band, Hymns with Piano and Pipe Organ, and a traditional Choir including some gospel music. We use a screen, and a printed bulletin, and there are hymnals and pew Bibles for those who are more comfortable using them. Our service style is casual, "come as you are." Some arrive in Sunday Dress, and others arrive in jeans and a T-shirt. All are welcome. We share communion (The Lord's Supper) every Sunday, and we serve by intinction. This means everyone is welcome to come forward and take a piece of bread and dip it in the cup before partaking. Pastor Liz's sermons are always based in the Bible while she makes the lesson relevant for today. Every Sunday we offer a Children's moment for all children who want to come forward. We also always have some coloring pages and coloring utensils available. There is a staffed (background checked) nursery available for children up to 5 years old. And if you are more comfortable with your children staying with you they are always welcome in the sanctuary.
Children Worship and Wonder
Every other Sunday we offer a program during worship for children ages 5-10 called Children, Worship, and Wonder. It is a program that teaches children about faith, the Bible, and what worship is about. Sometimes it will teach about the Church seasons and traditions. The program teaches through play and story and invites the children to engage the stories in a way that allows them to wonder about the mysteries of God and faith. Your appropriately aged children are welcome to attend or stay with you if they are more comfortable. Whatever works for you and your family.
Meet Our Minister
I'm Liz DeWeese, and I am looking forward to meeting you. I love serving as the minister at First Christian Church in Mesa where we are still becoming the Blessed Community. This church works week in and week out to create space where everyone will feel like they belong here.
